Lonaconing Silk Mill (Klotz Throwing Company) Join us for this special workshop at the Lonaconing Silk Mill (also known as The Klotz Throwing Company) to capture wonderful images from times past. It is one of the last remaining intact silk mills in the United States. This 52,000 square foot facility located in Lonaconing, MD was opened in 1907 and produced silk and rayon until a labor dispute caused it closing in 1957. Almost everything is still intact since its closed 64 years ago including all the machinery, looms, spools, tools, and artifacts from the past and many of the employees’ personal belongings. This place is an absolute treasure trove for photographers seeking to capture images of the past. During this workshop you are welcome to join us for two separate breakout sessions: 11:30-12:00 pm - Capturing Magnificent Macro Shots 1:30-2:00 pm - Light Painting techniques in the basement.

Notes:

This is a rain or shine event. Going in the late afternoon so we can capture the lighting for some great shots. Transportation is not included. Liability release required. Registration fee is non-refundable/non-cancellable.
