Yoga for Stronger Bones

Building strong bones and maintaining bone density is a concern for many women. In this class, you will learn to practice safe yoga poses that are suggested for women who have osteopenia or osteoporosis, those who may be at risk, or those who simply want to learn a well balanced yoga practice that can be performed at home. This class will also identify diet and lifestyle behaviors that contribute to the risk of developing low bone density.  You will take a bone health risk inventory and learn ways to use yoga to minimize the risk.

Yin Yoga for All Levels

Introduction to Aikido

Aikido is a non-competitive, defense-oriented, Japanese system of self-defense, which utilizes circular, fluid body movements to deal with an attack. You will learn basic falls and rolls, known as Ukemi, as well as the basic techniques such as: takedowns, joint locks and body throws. Aikido provides an aerobic workout and promotes increased flexibility through regular stretching. No previous martial arts experience is needed for this class. In this class you will learn how to use an AED (Automated External Defibrillator) along with CPR and choking skills for adults, infants, and children in an emergency situation. Navigating the Medical Maze
